AN INVITATION TO ALL MEDICAL LAB PROFESSIONALS

The MIMLS has been the professional association for the medical laboratory practitioners in Malaysia for more than 2 decades.
An Allied Health council shall be formed after the allied health act has been passed in parliament on 16th December 2015 and gazetted on 18th February 2016. The Act 774 will be known as The Allied Health Professions Act 2016. This Act will affect 23 allied health professionals in Malaysia. It is imperative that the MIMLS present itself as a viable partner in the Allied Health Professions Council. A strong membership base is essential to project our professional interests.   It must have a formidable number of members to safeguard the profession across the nation in the public and private practices.

We have been organising workshops, seminars and conferences at the national and international level to inculcate the love for scientific knowledge and prove that MLTs are professionals in our own right irrespective of our paper qualifications and by what name our professional title is called. Our profession is defined by our core business including all tasks that will eventually leads to production of results or information that will be used by the physicians.

The MIMLS is appointed as one of the association representing the professional associations alongside the College of Pathologists in the Malaysian National Medical Testing Accreditation Committee (MyNMTAC) by the Department of Standards Malaysia (DSM) and The Allied Health Professional Working Committee by the Allied Health Science Division (BSKB) of the Ministry of Health.

The MIMLS in partnership with the College of Pathologist, Academy of Medicine also runs the Laboratory Quality Assurance Scheme (LABQAS) for Quality Assurance program of laboratories in Malaysia.
